Antique Victorian Scottish Pottery Tamerlane pattern Punch Bowl by J & MP Bell Pottery Glasgow


An antique late Victorian Scottish pottery pedestal punch bowl, made by J & MP Bell & Co, Glasgow in the Tamerlane pattern, and dating to the late 19th / early 20th century.

The glazed earthenware bowl sits on a circular pedestal foot and is decorated in the Chinoiserie 'Tamerlane' transfer pattern with hand painted and orange lustre highlights on a white ground.

The base carries the blue printed J&MPB&Co Bell trademark backstamp with the pattern name below.

In VG condition with no chips or cracks with the expected crazing / rubbing commensurate with age.

Bowl is ca 25.5cms wide by 14 high.
