Fine pair of Arts & Crafts Watcombe red clay candlesticks possibly designed by Christopher Dresser

A stunning pair of Victorian Arts and Crafts Watcombe terracotta candlesticks decorated in an Egyptian manner with what looks like griffins and made around 1880.

Research indicates that Christopher Dresser was involved in designing pieces for Watcombe Pottery though there are no marks to indicate that he was involved with these items and the only mark is a back to front S on each stick.

These candlesticks are in excellent condition, are ca 16cms tall and look to have been hand painted.
