Original WW11 trench art brass fighter bomber plane with perspex propellers on serpentine base
This large and heavy decorative brass trench art fighter bomber on stand is an original World War 11 example in very good condition.
The twin engine plane is possibly a Wellington bomber or Lancaster, not sure.
The perspex propellers on these models are reputed to be from the original plane but have nothing to prove this with this example.
This large brass plane with a 23.5cm wingspan has a zig zag brass mount and sits on a heavy serpentine marble ashtray base which has been partly polished .
Fixed to the underside of the base is a thick piece of rubber presumeably to avoid scratches.Though firm, where the mount fits the base is a bit scratched on the serpentine where the item has been revolved to view the plane from different angles.
A substantial piece of trench art measuring 23cms high by 23 wide and 23 deep. in VG original patinated condition.
