ROYAL NAVY WORLD WAR 1 MEDALS TO G BAXTER CHIEF ENGINE ROOM ARTIFICER
An uncommon and scarce pair of World War 1 Victory and British War Medals awarded G BAXTER of the Royal Navy.
Each medal is inscribed on the edge as follows: 270754 G BAXTER ACT. C.E.R.A. 2 R.N.
This inscription tells us that Mr Baxter was an acting Chief Engineer Room Artificer 2nd class in the Royal Navy.
Limited research has revealed that G(eorge) Baxter served on HMS Columbine which was a purpose built torpedo boat destroyer.
These medals which are in nice patinated condition come with their original ribbons (a bit grubby) and metal fixing bar.
