TINY STANHOPE BINOCULARS OF MONTROSE SIGHTS
These tiny Stanhope binoculars would have been made in the early 20th Century as holiday souvenirs.
This example named MONTROSE shows various locations in and around Montrose which is a town just south of Aberdeen.
Stanhope images turn up discreetly placed in all sorts of objects including pens, watch fobs, thimbles and the more interesting the item and image the more valuable they are.
This example is of very small size measuring just 2.2 x 1.8cms and probably made of plastic though could be bone or ivory.
